My father was Reginald brooks my mother Maureen Brown ? Apparently my grandfather was a Brewer on the brooks side, my grandfather Brown was a painter decorator who died shortly after the second war, heavily involved with st Mary’s church any information would be amazing.

I had Tyrell and Cockayne relatives on Goodwin St and Willow Row. One was a soldier and the others brickmaker. I’m not surprised it was rough but they must have been decent people as they married and brought up many children together.

I was doing some history on someone who was in the Army hostel in 1939 and stumbled across your story. I am a member of Friends of Nottingham Road Cemetery.
